Three Boston Red Sox players win Gold Glove awards
Three Boston Red Sox players earned Gold Glove awards, highlighted by the franchise's first win at third base since 1959.

Major League Baseball announced the 2026 Rawlings Gold Glove Award winners, and three members of the Boston Red Sox received prestigious defensive honors for their stellar play on the diamond. Right fielder Wilyer Abreu, center fielder Ceddanne Rafaela, and third baseman Caleb Durbin all secured the national recognition following standout defensive campaigns that anchored the team throughout the year.
The collective accolades mark a historic milestone for the franchise, highlighted by the first Gold Glove win by a Red Sox third baseman since 1959. Durbin captured that milestone award after anchoring the team's infield defense with exceptional reliability, quick reflexes, and impressive range across the dirt.
Rafaela added another major defensive award to his growing professional resume through his elite coverage and fearless tracking across the outfield grass. Abreu continued his dominant tracking in right field, routinely shutting down opposing extra-base hits and base runners with a powerful throwing arm and precise routes.
Reporting by the Boston Herald noted that the trio matched a single-season organizational record for the club with their awards. Players officially learned of their selection during a national broadcast on Sunday night as the postseason awards season kicked off across the league.
